SOLD: Rescue 911 (R911)

Post by jzach »

Rescue 911 (Gottlieb, 1994)

1/6 update - I have been sold.
12/23 update- I am claimed for and to be sold on 1/5 or 1/12.

This was the R911 that used to belong to Tim Nobling. As he turns all his games into workhorses, this one continues to work super solid and I have not had any issues with it since I picked it up from him early last year.

Since owning, the only updates I've made are two lighting changes. First, I put color and fire LED's in the backglass to make it pop and be more of an action scene. And second, I replaced the blinding red/white flasher he had with an even more blinding red/blue flasher (meant for a cop car) along with an LED rotating beacon topper. Basically, the coolest and most blinding topper you'll probably find on any pinball machine.

The GOOD:
- Helicopter is fully functional, no issues, has nicer than stock cord wrap (10/10)
- Plays great with no issues! (10/10)
- Playfield in good condition, some touch-up was done where ball drops in the inlanes (8/10)
- Cabinet is in very nice shape (8/10)
- Playfield plastics are clean/uncracked and none missing (9/10)
- Flashing in your face obnoxious toppers (10/10)
- Coin door button is positioned so game doesn't shut off when coin door is opened (happens w/ these Gottliebs) (10/10)
- Has extra LED strips to add more playfield lighting (10/10)
- Has rare to find clear pinball captive balls (2 of them) which light-up from inserts underneath (10/10)
- Game play is incredible and non-stop fun!!! (11/10)
- Overall: I'd say it is well above players condition, but not mint/collectors condition. It plays really well, everything in the game is working, has LEDs throughout, and is a great deal for a 90s DMD game.

The BAD:
- Among the 3 blinding red and 3 blinding blue LED topper lights, the center blue light doesn't flash. It is only noticeable when you stare directly at it, which you shouldn't do anyway since you'll then be seeing spots for the next two minutes. I accidentally blew it when testing it out, but never wanted to fix it since it is too blinding anyway (I kinda wish I blew the center red one also).

Game is located in downtown Madison in an easy to load from basement.

Let me know if you have any questions as I don't want to surprise anyone here with anything.

Great game and looks really nice! I still see spots in front of my eyes from when I played it at Tim's. I think of those fun times when I bump into things from lack of clear sight.

I see Tim still has some high scores on it from the time he took the glass off and kept pushing all the switches.

Good luck with your sale!

Damnit.... I really need to resist buying this back... This game is my guilty pleasure. If I had space, this wouldnt even be for sale.

JZach is a great dude... buy with confidence.
