Namco Rockin Bowl Ball Removal?

Post by zenbone »

I wanted to take out the roller ball and clean up the contact points/roller. I have not gotten in there yet to see what lays ahead. anyone done this before? any tips or tricks that might save me hours of agony and looking for replacement parts i broke? ALSO, i did see some swirl ball style roller balls out there. Anyone know where these can be ordered? i did some google searches to no avail.

Is that a 3” ball in there? If so, I might have a ball you can have in my parts stash. I think these are just old school trackball setups.

Also, I have used twistedquarter forever for pinball and arcade parts... they have a marbled ball that would fit.... https://twistedquarter.com/index.php?ma ... dsh5irv6o1

Also, to answer your original question, trackballs are SUPER easy to work on. A few screws to take assembly out of game, and a few long screws to open the assembly up.

Congrats, never played one, but it looks like a fun game. Rollers are a must during rebuild. They get gunked and worn something horrible, and even after a good cleaning, they are never as good as new.
