side note: Death saves are not allowed in competition.
I had to DQ myself on the playoff with Maya last night as I did a deathsave (I need to stop practicing those for fun so I don't use them in competition) and needed to rule against myself :)
Maya won on score already so I don't want to take away from the quality of her win.
It took me a minute to take off my player hat and put on my official hat, but I did rule against myself.

Ken also reminded me that I should officially rule on death saves and bang backs so it is in writing going forward.
Official ruling > don't do them, but if you manage to do it with only 1 warning it is pretty Fin' cool ;) Still a DQ, but really damn cool to see :)
May be time to tighten the tilt on ST?

Oh yes, don't try these on location machines. I hear the operators are tough guys and will smack you around.

It was an impressive 1 warning save.

So far 8 months of monthly events and we have had 56 unique players.

Here is the current list of compiled IFPA accumulated WPPR points at this stage (thru Nov).

With approximately 2.3 points awarded to each monthly winner and 1.3 points awarded to each monthly second place finisher there is a lot of room to shift around your Pooley's 2014 final total points accumulated with the upcoming Dec event (Dec 10th).

I thought others may enjoy seeing the data and I figure this is already publically available on IFPA so nobody would mind if I share the compiled list.

This Wednesday marks the last event for the 2014 season.

Ben Heck was nice enough to help me start with the annual trophy that I hope to place at the location and add a plaque for the top 4 finishers each year.

If I can find a little more time between now and Wednesday I may bring the WIP trophy along to show people.

Hope to see all out there. I think I have enough pitcher tickets to cash in for 1 or 2 so I will be doing that also.

Hope to see many out at this months Pooley's on Wednesday.

Better get out and practice on Atlantis :) Who knew that flippers just 1/8" longer could make shots feel so different.

I hope to be there tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting some local pinheads and checking out the machines there. Anything I should know/bring for my first monthly tournament other than quarters?

Only advice is to put yourself out there and say hi to as many regulars as possible. All really great guys and they will all be happy to show you the ropes.
I would suggest coming early to get in some practice on all the games as it tends to help to get warmed up and to also familarize yourself with how things are playing on any given day.

This is a pretty casual event so come ready for some fun wednesday pinball action. I am not sure how good you are but don't be dissapointed if you find the competition tough. Many examples of guys who lost the first few months they came and now are doing better each month. Also examples of ringers who come in and dominate their first time :)

Sounds good. I'll be heading over after work tomorrow evening, so hopefully I'll be able to get some practice in before things start up. Never played any of the machines on location here, but who knows maybe I'll have beginner's luck.

First a Ballers victory. Now a Pooley's victory. Could I be getting more consistent? Only Mad City Flippers will tell. Great fun as always!
