It’s time again to mark your calendars for our 3rd year of pinball league. The dates for this upcoming year are:
September 7
October 5
November 2
December 7
January 4
February 1
February 29
March 28
May 2
May 30
June 20 (finals)
Each league night takes place at someone’s house (we currently have 6 hosts located in Grafton, Mequon, Saukville, Cedarburg, and West Bend). Doors open at 6pm and game play starts at 7pm. There are 5 rounds, where each round consists of 3-4 players playing a single game and recording who finishes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. In a 3-player game, 7 points are awarded for 1st, 4 points for 2nd, and 1 point for 3rd. In a 4-player game, the points are 7/5/3/1. We use tournament software that pairs players together of similar strength. The league is for fun and not sanctioned by IFPA or any other sanctioning body. Unoccupied games are free to play the entire night.
There is a $20 fee to participate which covers the entire year for payouts. The year is divided up into 5 “sessions” (for example, session #1 is Sept. 7 and Oct. 5, session #2 is Nov. 2 and Dec. 7, etc.). For each session, the 1st/2nd/3rd place finishers with points receive a fraction of the pot. First place for the session receives 50%, second place receives 30%, and third place receives 20%. Ties are not (officially) broken, so prizes are split for all finishers in a particular place (for example, if two people finish in 1st place, each would receive 40% of the pot). Because each session is scored independently, we have lots of different winners due to luck/randomness. Finals night is separate and runs like a tournament.
If you are absent for a particular night, you will receive a percentage of your average as the score for that night. First absence is 80%, second is 70%, etc. You must be present at least one of the 2 nights of a session to win a payout. Subs are allowed, but the sub’s score will be capped at the absentee percentage score. Using a sub does not count as an absence.
In addition to the annual league fee, for each league night attended every person pays $10 to the host for dinner/snacks/drinks/pinball maintenance. This is an amazing deal and the hosts usually put in tons of time and lose money, so please don’t forget to pay, even if you skip dinner. Some hosts will also run optional side games either for fun or for a small pot (e.g., $1 to buy in).
Space is limited and sign-ups are first-come, first-served. To sign up, just send me a PM or email and I will reply to confirm your spot.
Thanks!

Re: 2019-2020 schedule
Late to the party, I know.... only found out about this site yesterday, after somebody on Pinside mentioned it.
Anyway, wondering if anybody in Milwaukee's northshore still participates in this group?? The thread seems to have died on the vine. I'm in Mequon and have eight machines, all '78-'81 Ballys, most of which are minty restores.
Side note: Bally Playboy CPR playfield swap is on my docket after the holidays. First timer, so I'm gathering information to feel better equipped to handle all that. If there's anybody in my area who has done this before, bonus if I can keep ya on speed-dial! LOL

Sorry for the massive delayed response, it's been a little while since I checked this page. Yes, the league is still running although we are currently taking the summer off. If you PM me an email address, I can get you looped in when we start back up in September!dakine747 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 3:45 pm Late to the party, I know.... only found out about this site yesterday, after somebody on Pinside mentioned it.
