Appleton MatchPlay & Strikeout Tournament Registration March 10th
Posted: Sun Mar 04, 2018 9:36 am
I am going to be hosting a MatchPlay and 3 Strike Tournament on April 28th.
Website: https://sites.google.com/site/appletonmatchplay/
I decided to end the NEWI Tournament. I like the format of the NEWI but it would take too long entering scores and running the main and mini together was getting to be too much.
The new format is simply just easier to run with a large group of people. There will be also a lot less waiting. The goal is more pinball play.
The new format will be a 13 round MatchPlay tournament in groups of 4 with one game played per round. The format will be very similar to how league’s are run now.
I am going to run the tournament in a Tiered Swiss Format. This format is very similar to how Pinburgh is run.
Here is an example with 10 rounds on how pairings are made:
http://seeder.slapsave.com/?player_count=48&rounds=10
After 13 rounds are played, the person with the most points wins. If there is a tie for first, a one game tiebreaker will be played.
7-5-3-1 Scoring will be used.
A 3 Strike Tournament will follow after the MatchPlay Tournament.
This will be Swiss style.
More details on the website.
The tournament will be limited to 48 players and will be run at my private residence.
The fee will be $40.
The $40 will be for both tournaments. Lunch and dinner will be provided as well as snacks and beverages. Money will go toward food, trophies, prizes and ifpa dues.
The fee is no refundable unless someone takes your spot from the waitlist so plan ahead.
Registration will begin Saturday March 10th at 9am. You must email me once registration starts to get a spot. I do require PayPal at that time as well via friends and family payment. If you don’t have Paypal other arrangements can be made.
Once 48 spots are taken, I will start a waitlist.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me. tgraf1@gmail.com
Thanks
Tom.
