No problem man, glad you got it worked out. This is exactly what these teardown threads are for. I have a lot more to upload for other machines, just gotta find some time.

I already have had several PMs from people thanking me for the various artwork files I posted (plastic scans, etc.)..... There is a real need for those scans, and no company seems to fill it unless it is a super popular title. If anyone has any of those scans, you can email to post them, or post them yourselves, I have no preference.

Hey Tim,

I am curious as to how you transfer an image to the plastic? I have done the clear decal method for a couple of games and they turned out "ok" but it looks like you did something more like a direct print.

For any plastic that is shorter than 11" in length, i use glossy decal paper. I print that off, shoot it with a coat of Krylon Crystal clear, and then stick it to the plastic, and then use a scroll saw to shape it out.

On larger plastics like this one, I have to use my other printer that is capable of printing 11x17. I then print this onto a Positive Screen Print Film- http://www.fixxons.com/1/main.html

I then turn that sheet over and it it with gloss white for the backing. From there, I spray the front with adhesive and stick it under the plastic and let it setup to dry. After dry, I use a scroll saw to shape it out just like the smaller plastics that I use the adhesive decal paper.

The larger plastics are definitely a lot more work.

That's good stuff. I may have to give it a go for firepower (for starters). Any printer recommendations?

I was using a kickass HP professional studio printer, but that died on me last year. Now I am using this Brother, and it has been rock solid. The 11x17 gets manually fed through the back bypass tray.

Excellent density.... You have to spray paint the back of the film white after you have printed it, but the results are fantastic.

I can give you a sheet or two (or anyone for that matter) if you want to try some out for yourself.

This is good info. You should really separate it from this thread or create a new one with a write up on how you do it (with pics of course!). I know....a lot of work...but we would all appreciate it :)

If I get another long one where I need to go through this process, I will certainly document it.
