I always post on smoke breaks at Pooley's . Curious to see what all that extra playing got me under the new metrics. And that's only a bonus because it was just plain fun to participate in that playoff. Definitely more fun and rewarding to finish top 4 now. Thanks for hosting as always. Glad you liked that small tweak. Should help for points and nice to hear it was enjoyable. It did not appear to add any time to the duration of the event so that was perfect also.
Event should score out at 3.42 base points based on games played and number of players last night. There is still a little added on the top for strength of field but that is small. If I understand the new system correctly then you should get ~3.5 points for the win.
If my math is correct that also means I can be the first to welcome you to the top 500 IFPA WI club Ken! Should boost you over the threshold.
no promises on any of this as the reality of the new point system is still slightly fuzzy even though I think I understand it in theory.
Wanted to say a huge thanks to the 4 new people that came last night! Really great seeing some new folks in the mix!
Don't get frustrated if you did not do as well as you wanted, we all have bad nights and I can promise you that you will do better if you practice and come again.
I had a great time. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to Pooley's for some practice before February's event, especially on Addam's Family.
