(SOLD!)FS: Williams Sorcerer - 53590

Post by pinball4ever »

I thought I'd throw this on here first to see if anyone was interested. This title is getting more difficult to find and especially hard to find in decent condition. It the price doesn't seem fair, let me know.

Pics:

Here's the pros and cons:

Pros:
-New legs
-New leg bolts
-New leg levelers
-New batteries
-New front lock

-Backglass is near perfect
-Displays are near perfect
-Cabinet is really nice for its age and hasn't been touched up at all (yet). Any touch ups would be fairly easy with the simple colors involved.
-Playfield is really nice for a Sorcerer (as most are blown out). Just some fairly minor insert wear on the black and a few other minor issues.
-Game boots and plays great every time and all initial issues have been fixed (less the one con below).

Cons:
-(update-fixed below!) Sound will work perfectly for 10-20 games then will just cut out. I'm 95% sure it's just the ribbon cable but I don't have a 40 pin laying around or available on any other game to swap. Messing with the cable will bring the sound back after a few tries.
-Small breaks in a few plastics and small chips in the pop bumper caps (not visible from front).
-Game could use a complete teardown and shop out but plays great like it is for now.

Thanks!
Todd

Update: Intermittent sound problem fixed! :D

The sound issue was driving me crazy so I decided to dig into every game I had to find a 40 pin ribbon cable. I found one (thanks Xenon!), created a new connector, and voila' - same problem. :o

Issue turned out to be a flaky 6808 chip. They rarely go bad but I replaced it with a 6802 and all the sounds came back on (and stayed on)!
