I am trying to restore this machine and hopping someone can help me with it. I power on the machine and and hit the credit the game resets but then goes into game over mode what would be causing this and what do I do to fix it

Sounds like a stuck switch. I'd start with the switches under the pins. Especially the last row that tells it that the puck has passed and to move on to the next frame. If one is shorted, on coin up it'll bang thru all 10 frames and into game over.

Make sure all your steppers ratchet and reset smoothly too.
