1978 Kiss Machine

Post by Pinball_Rookie »

Recently purchased a 78 machine, which is my very first machine. The coin slot works, but not able to post any credits to start the game. If anyone has any pointers or insight I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!

If you open the coin door, are you able to trigger the arm for each coin slot to manually add a credit? What does it do when you do this?

Make sure none of the tilt switches are in the wrong position. Maybe re-seat the big square molex connector for the coindoor wiring. Make sure the connectors on the MPU are properly pressed onto the board.

Thanks for the feedback. I've checked the wire connections with the coin wire harness and back to the MPU and all seem to be tight. I cannot manually trigger credits, so any other thoughts? I just got this game yesterday, so this is all new to me! :)

Run a switch test as outlined here-

Do you have any stuck switches reporting? Is the tilt switch (as Eric Mentioned) reporting as closed?

How would one determine that?

Take a look at the link I posted. It explains what you are looking for in switch test.

Did this machine work previously?

Yes, it did work previously. Is it possible something got jarred in transit? I wasn't able to determine anything with the switches. Know anyone in the greater Oshkosh Wi area that has some troubleshooting/repair skills?

Send me a PM with your contact info. I work in Oshkosh and can probably take a look at it.
