What is twisted FLippers current IFPA reporting structure

Post by Hilton »

Just saw you guys have reported recently for TF. Curious what the structure and format is that you are running.

Are you running 39 league members deep on a single night or is that a conglomeration of 2 or more nights. That is a huge turn out! congrats.

Just curious what to expect as the year unfolds with IFPA reporting.
The IFPA website direct to here but there does not appear to be any current info.

Since Neo obviously very rarely comes here (we do our league communication via email)....
As 2nd in command, I'll give a real quick overview.

43 - Number of members for 2017
30 - Average turnout per monthly meeting
10 - Monthly (every 4 weeks) meetings from Sept-May, followed by a year end playoff/tournament in June
No meeting in July or Aug due to most people wanting their Summer free

Each "season" consists of 2 monthly meetings.
Each monthly meeting consists of 5 games played in 4 player groups with 7-5-3-1 point payout (7-4-1 for 3 player group when needed).
There may or may not be a side tournament each month based on Hosts choice/availability.
Each players 2 month point total determines their finishing position for that season.

Payouts are made to Top 3 finishers each season. (We just started this year in order to encourage participation by "spreading the wealth" a little bit
to players of all skill levels as some may not be consistent enough to hang in the Top 8 all year, but are certainly capable of putting together
a couple good showings. It's worked quite nicely so far too...we have had 9 different people receive payouts over the first 3 seasons.

Points are also cumulative over the 5 seasons for the year end playoff of the Top 8 players using the same format as monthly meetings.
Players not making the Top 8 can also compete in a Double Elimination Tournament if they choose.
The year end party/playoff/tourney is strictly for fun and to award trophies/payouts.
Only the results of the 5 seasons are reported to IFPA for points.

That pretty much covers it,

thanks Greg. Sounds like a fun format and you have obviously made some tweaks to make it even more inviting to all skills.

Great job!
