Once I opened it up, it was pretty obvious what was wrong with the shooter on my LW3:

All I think I need is this bracket, which I guess I should try to have made instead of welding? Unless there's a source for such?

I find (out of stock) shooter assemblies on Marco. Anywhere else I can look?

RIGGS! They used cop-killers! Full-metal jacket!

Looks like the part survived into the Sega/Stern days:

Out of stock at Marco. :(

Thanks, gents.

So far, I'm striking out; everyone is out of stock:

I found this, but they don't ship to the US (from Germany):

Or from Australia it's $85 with shipping

SuzoHapp claims to have it:

... but $50 min order. Anyone need any crap from SuzoHapp shipped to Madison? I'd pay shipping!

Reach out to The Pinball Resource and at least ask - they carry a ton of things. Be sure to provide the part number! :)

No joy from the Pinball Resource, alas.

Ralph, you're my only hope right now (before I start kludging a solution using newer shooter assembly).

I have everything from the trough area except that bracket. I must have already given that bracket away. At one point, I had three DE playfields worth of assemblies, plastics, posts, etc.

Ray hasnt had them in stock for a couple of years.... If you click on the item, it says out of stock.

I am surprised these havent been remade, they are a very common break item.

Sorry didn't see that. Maybe you could fab a brace for your broken one with a peice of thin bar stock? Drill a couple of holes through existing bracket and bolt the barstock to the broken one (or weld it if you have access to a welder).

So, in the meantime, someone who is a beginning welder looking for practice projects posted on Nextdoor... I dropped him off the broken bracket to give a try. We shall see how that goes!
