Re: Captain Fantastic - flipper EOS switch
This is awesome, Chris. Thank you! This helps a lot. And yours looks nice and clean under there, much nicer than mine. This switch stack looks like a franken-stack similar to what was described in that forum post (but about the simpler one-flipper switch), not quite what I ordered, but I think it'll...

Re: Captain Fantastic - flipper EOS switch
I'll take some pics of my flipper assemblies tonight, for some more points of reference. I've got one coil with a new switch stack from PBResource. Awesome; I think that might help a lot. Completely striking out on finding longer screws online. Dude at the hardware store said I had a #6, but fine t...

Re: Captain Fantastic - flipper EOS switch
After a run to the hardware store looking for longer screws, that route may be more difficult than I thought.
These are apparently #6 machine screws, but fine thread. I need, it looks like, 1" instead of 7/8" long

Re: Captain Fantastic - flipper EOS switch
Ralph - thank you, definitely will move the coil back to original. But I don't understand what you're saying on the switch - you're saying I should pull the new metal out of the new switch, and use the old, thinner, insulators? But even if I do this, the form factor on these switches seems wrong. I ...

Captain Fantastic - flipper EOS switch
This is the first time I've been this deep into mucking about with an EM game. This one happens to be one my dad got when I was in high school, and has had ever since. When I bought my first pin last year, I added it to my collection. Captain Fantastic. Even when he first got it (sometime in the ear...

Re: Special Force price reduced...
If it weren't guns, I'd do it just to get a full stable of 4 in my dining room. But I have two young kids and ALREADY have 3 inappropriate-for-kids pinball machines, with either guns or scary images or scantily clad women (LW3, TFTC, CF).

Philo - I'd be curious to see pics/details on your slot machine.

Re: WTB 4-way joystick arcade cabinet
I actually started my build with Mag Stik plusses... but: - No LED light available - No ball top (I prefer that form factor) - Hard to know whether in 4 or 8 way mode, and to explain how to switch it. - ALSO, the biggest thing, I didn't like the action on them - it is nigh-impossible to hit a cardin...

WTB 4-way joystick arcade cabinet
I know it's not pinball, sorry! I hope this is okay to post regardless. I'm almost finished with my 4 player arcade cabinet running MAME in a SmashTV cabinet which I restored from pretty torn up shape. I'm looking now for another cabinet I can restore to handle the games this ones doesn't do well......

Re: Game Roms
I wonder... so I had an issue with my LW3 ROMs some months ago and ordered up a set from John. They were the latest version, which worked fine... except they have the "Tri-Ball" instead of "Multiball" notification. I guess this was some lawsuit Data East lost? Has anyone ever tri...

Re: TFtC Ball Launcher Issues
I'll take pics when I work on it, but when you pop up the playfield, they're all locked into a 6-ball caddy of some sort, so they don't flop out. I have to manually trigger the solenoid to get the 1st to eject (and then, when powered on, it seems to move them all up a spot).

Re: TFtC Ball Launcher Issues
I don't know what type of switches this thing has. I will say it's a pain in the arse to get the balls out of that 6-ball holder... have to keep manually ejecting, power cycle, manually ejecting.
I will try to do some switch testing; thanks, gents!

TFtC Ball Launcher Issues
I have had this Tales From the Crypt for a month or two. It's mostly been okay (had some loose screws on a VUK causing issues, but that I sorted). This weekend I had a party and it was failing. Basically, when the ball is supposed to feed into the launch area, it doesn't. It thinks it's shot the bal...

Re: DMD for Data East pin?
FYI the updated ROMs fixed the issue. Sadly, also, it went from "MULTI-BALL" to "TRI-BALL". Does not have the same ring to it. =)johnstewart wrote:https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic ... corruption
It sounds like this is fix-able with an updated ROMset!
