Re: How did you all get started?
you may be able to work out a deal with Eric where he fix up the display/board issues. Then you could deal with shopping it out and the general mechanical stuff which you will need to learn anyway. Eric is a whiz when it comes to fixing board stuff so if he agreed to bulletproof it then the rest is...

Re: How did you all get started?
So much to think about! :) I decided to not consider the DE Simpsons, didn't even look at it, based off of what Hilton said. I don't want to bring home a machine with unknowns lurking beneath. I've dealt with too many "previous owner" things that I'd rather not sink money into knowing wher...

Re: How did you all get started?
Hmmm...it's in Neenah, so I would have to figure out how to get it here. It's got demons and human sacrifice, not quite kid-friendly  Also, from what I've read, it's simplified play, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but also, I'm not sure if it'll hold my interest long. But it would have it...

Re: How did you all get started?
Thanks Quy! That DEsimpsons is a fun game but quickly becomes about just the left ramp when playing for points. I personally would not be interested in it, but that does not mean you wont like it. I would highly suggest playing one before buying (I would suggest that for any game). The seller is a ...

What do they have at Funset? (Kinda actually surprised they are still opened). I had a crowd around me years ago when they had a huge X-men Vs. Street Fighter machine there. Kept beating up all the challengers. Probably beat around 3-4 people that challenged me

Re: How did you all get started?
For sure! My wife and I (sans kids) are heading out to Alt to have a beer and play a few, if you're free this afternoon. I think we're heading out around 3 or 4, kinda early I know, but we have to take the time when we can. Our gracious friend offered to babysit for us! Anyone else is obviously invi...

Re: How did you all get started?
Thanks for sharing your stories and insights. It's really great seeing how everyone got into the hobby, both old and new, and the advice will be completely taken to heart. I've thought about going cheaper, less than $1500, and selling/trading to move up. and after reading more and more, it seems lik...

Re: How did you all get started?
I was just thinking from an ownership POV, that if I were to have one pin (which is all the space I have, maybe 2) it would be TZ or ST:TNG. Like you said, between Geeks, Alt, Pooley's, Schwoegler's, a few at The Pizza Oven, and at Rossi's, there are plenty of pins to keep me busy until the time com...

How did you all get started?
How did you all get started collecting and buying machines? Did you start with old EM machines? Buy the cheapest one you could get? Did you start with ones that you absolutely loved and had to have? Are you all filthy rich and I'm the only poor one? Or did you have to finance? No specifics needed ob...

I read this earlier today. It was a really great read and they mentioned a documentary in it that I'll have to keep my eye out for.
Thanks for posting!

Re: Geeks mania - Madison
Thanks for posting and clearing that up Jim. TWZ and Addams Family were the ones i played most when it was coin drop. I'm not sure how all that works but i appreciate you giving us the opportunity to enjoy all those great pins. I would have done the same if i were in your position. TWZ was really fu...

Re: Geeks mania - Madison
Was at Geeks Mania today and it seemed like there was a steady stream of people coming in. I definitely played more than $15 worth of pinball but they didn't have TWZ, Walking Dead, Addams Family, or Game of Thrones. I don't know if i care for them removing the "nice" pins as the whole rea...

Yep, was just there today. I'll be heading there a bit more often since like you, I don't have much more than 30-40 minutes.

Re: New to the forum and newish to pinball
Was just there today. Dropped a buck on Hobbit and got nowhere lol. Dropped a couple bucks on Game of Thrones, and still learning the rule set but really enjoying it so far! That left orbit and left lane is hard! Is there must be a target back there because the bounce back is wicked.
