Re: Pinside site is down.

Some of the game club threads are OK, too, although I understand that’s only because the moderators pace around, waving their nightsticks.

Re: Rick and Morty

Congrats! It’s such a great game. I love the huge variety of callouts for the same actions. It’s really tough to get tired of anything in the game when it’s different every time. And with new features coming constantly, it’s more fun every month!

Re: Pinside site is down.

Best part about Pinside is curating your “ignore” feature. They do a good job with their forum software. Even the quoted responses are blanked out. I haven’t seen a post from Levi, that guy with the Texas Longhorns profile pic, and a few other forum warriors in a long time. It makes the place a lot ...

Re: For Sale/Trade- Really Nice NBA Fastbreak $3200

We did pretty much the same thing. I read up to see if there were any massive flaws, but aside from that we bought on theme and a general "that layout looks like it might be fun". TBH, the coop mode played a factor, too. Our kids aren't into pinball much, but like playing together. It's the game my ...

Re: For Sale/Trade- Really Nice NBA Fastbreak $3200

We’ve got one, and we really like it. The training shot is a royal PITA, but it’s a fun game, and the theme is awesome. I’m not a fan of all of the TMNT incarnations, but they did a great job on the art, and we’ve been playing lately with the 90’s cartoon art replacement, which is awesome! We’re als...

That's virtuous, I would have kept it for dollar games. ;)

Re: Black Knight 2000

Wow, I thought you guys were going to have that one for life! GLWS, I thought it looked really nice even before you started working on it. It must be flawless now!

Whoa, I missed the news. Alas, Eric: we hardly knew thee!

Congrats on getting the job! Good luck with the move back. At least you’ll have less to box up this time!

Re: One-handed strippers

Most disappointing thread of 2021. :D

I have one of these:

I don’t know the difference between the cheap ones and the good ones, but after practicing a bit I can make it work pretty consistently. At least more consistently than manually.

Re: The Mothership is landing

The Pro art would have been good if they could have worked in the rotating wheel into the backglass. It’s probably a bit beyond Stern’s BoM to swipe an old Black Hole motor to make that happen, though, even in an LE. The Premium is iconic, and I’m not bothered by it. I never did like the angel thing...

So you’ve got the Indiana Jones vault down there, now? You must be anxious to start building your System 11 museum. Are you going to put an elevator in? :D

Re: The Mothership is landing

Are you gonna be the guy with a Zeppelin sandwiched between two GnR's, Chris? :)

I might be in the market for this one too... we need to change stuff up a bit, and have gone on a bit of a buying spree. (Thanks, Kingpin!) I love Zeppelin, but I might be the only one in the house who does.

Re: pinball podcasts

If anyone hasn’t listened to Stuff You Should Know, check it out. They give a ~60 minute overview of any particular topic, ranging from volcanoes to Lewis & Clark to shrooms. It’s like listening to a couple knowledgeable friends chat about something... not too geeky or dry. They’re apparently one of...

Re: Move Confirmed

Grading is definitely important. The dirt on one side of our old house was retrograde for a while, and we'd get water in the basement. We had to replace the carpet in our pinball room as a result. After building up a nice grade of dirt away from the house, we never had problems again. Build up more ...

Re: Nintendo Switch.... Club?

I’m playing Hades lately. Lots of fun! I generally get irritated with “rogue-likes” being repetitive, but the variety in your weapons and how each run plays through makes it engaging. The theme is great, the voice acting is great, and you really get a feeling of getting better at the game as you pla...
