If this is your first, best advice I was told that was true, "sleep when the baby sleeps."
Forget dishes, housework, computer, etc. Lean on a grandma or aunt to help with those things. You need to rest to take care of mama and the baby.

I could go on with lots of things, but the best info I personally learned is this.

BREAST MILK IS GOLD AND TREAT IT AS SUCH!!

Nobody tells us dudes this ever important fact. Milk has a quick shelf life, so either use or freeze, but if you have to throw it away, TAKE THAT SHIT TO YOUR GRAVE !! Just kidding. She WILL find out. But seriously, breast feeding is a VERY exhausting process for mama, so she will flip out if you don't respect the milk. And it is worth it get the mechanical pump from medela, manual too much effort.
