Thats a rare one right there! I would get it scanned before you do any type of protection to it. If you want to practice triple thicking, I have a champion pub backglass you can have that is ready to fall apart into a million pieces it is flaked so bad. That would give you plenty to practice with.

Is it flaking right now? If it isn't, I wouldnt touch it. The triple thick formula changed a few years ago, and I know some people have had problems with it more recently. I have only triple thicked 5 glasses (roughly) and it has been awhile, but it was only because they were starting to flake really bad.

If you are going to frame it and keep heat away from it (bulbs), I would mount it as-is.

I agree. I have had good luck with Triple Thick over the years. With that said it seems to have a mixed success rate. I have a friend that had a sealed Heat Wave glass with ink that delaminated in big chunks. It's a good option for a glass that you want to "save" if it's deteriorating heavily already. If your glass is mostly intact it will probably be just the fine in a temperature controlled environment. In my opinion taking a chance on something that rare is probably a bad idea.

Agree with AlexF & ralphwiggum. Only have done it on really flaky glasses. Have had good luck on those. I'd limit using it to glasses that are not very good to start with or are really starting to flake badly.
