SOLD - GTB Monte Carlo - Project - SOLD

Post by Chitownpinball »

This ad is for a Monte Carlo I made a big mistake buying site unseen off the Offerup app.

Game needs major work. Hacks all over the place. Playfield and cab are pretty nice. Im into it $750 I am embarrassed to say. I am taking offers.

The first 2 pics are from the ad. The rest are the hacks.

Wow, never seen a regular household incandescent light bulb in a backbox before. I hope the previous owner didn't actually run the game with that on. I can't imagine what that kind of radiated heat would do to the electronics.

Super disappointment in myself for this one....live an learn I guess.

Hoping some one wants a cheap project. Still looking for a nice MC!

The 6803 games all had regular light fixtures in them. Not sure about this particular gottlieb though.

The good news, is that the cosmetics look pretty nice on this.

HMM has a 40W in the backbox right next to the boards:

I put a high CRI LED in its place... Brighter, runs cooler, and looks nicer.

This doesn't look bad at all. So many games have hacks and other issues nothing seems to surprise me anymore. Looks like the bottom cabinet grounding mods are done.

If I didn't have a bunch of projects, I'd be all over this - I love a challenge and this era of Gottlieb game is really fun. I think there's a nice alternate translite available too if this one doesn't do it for you (and I would guess it doesn't because no one seems to like it). The originals are always faded too.

I love that Gottlieb sent an employee to the hardware store to buy all the porcelain light sockets they had in stock during manufacturing!
