Madison 2017 City Championships

Post by Hilton »

The championship belt is back on the line again for this annual event.

Open registration and no restrictions to play. Limited to 24 players.

When: Sat Dec 30th
Where: Jones household
Why: Because if was fun last year
Format: Similar to last year. Qualify on 12? games. Playoff is 4 player PAPA style in seeded brackets.
Winner of the event (*or highest finishing qualified person) will then play a final best of series against the reigning champ to try and take the belt for the next year.

How to register: Email to reserve a spot

Current MadCity standings and events played

*To have a shot at the actual belt you must finish top 24 in Madison location based events (monthlies and launches) and have played in at least 10% of all Madison Pinball based events during the year. Anyone can still win the competition for IFPA points, but the belt is for Madison based events. Want a chance at the belt, then luckily there is still time left since you could still play in 7 more events this year...

Whiners and complainers not allowed. This is just some fun old pinball and a chance to try and beat the kid.
So.... you're not allowed to play then? Am I reading that correctly???

Hahaha, just kidding... sort of.

Great event, unfortunately I'm out of town. I can donate a signed dialed in Translite if you want though.

He will pre-play the games so no one else will hear the whining and complaining

Here is the perfect example of someone crying and whining rather than say anything to my face when he wants to claim I cheated and so did my wife (she watched me preplay the few games I did last year.) Pretty insulting to say the least.

Thankfully, multiple friends told me that Jimmy has been whining about it for almost a year now and that it was viewed by some as an advantage when all I was attempting to do was ensure I could help make the event run smoother for others (less games to play means I can fix games, stuck balls, enter scores, etc...). Yup, bad move on my part (perception is all that matters and some people will twist anything to fit their needs/desires for some drama so better off to try and prevent the whiners from crying about it) and I have fixed it since.

I will not be pre-playing any games this year. Sorry I did last year for those that were offended by me doing so.

If anyone decides they want to come last minute (get knocked out early at erics?) then let me know via text.

Plan to start at 5p and run concurrent with MCF league to keep it from going too late.

Fun times last night yall.

Results are submitted to IFPA.

Brodee and Ryan will have a best of 7 series when the kid gets back from vacation to crown the champ/ belt holder for the next year.

Brodde defends his belt? It’s like a WWF match! Watch out for a chair from the turnbuckle!
