Mark,
Can you host August 16th? (Friday)
If yes, how about a simple show of hands who could attend August 16th?

Re: August 10th discussion.
I think i do better on games I havent played before. I am curious to see how I do on his 1812, as it is bound to feel different than mine. Knowing what shots you have to make and actually executing the shots are two different animals. At Neo's, my worst game was RFM and I had one in my collection fo...

Re: I may need board work done- recommendations?
U20 and U21 (and I think U17 above them) all have those same closed frame sockets. These sockets are a little different than other closed frame sockets I have seen. In fact, this board just seems a little different than other System 9 boards I have seen. It almost appears as though this was an unpop...

Re: My flintstones BR1 mess
Sounds like you got it.... While the board is out, it would be a good time to look around for any cracked/cold soldered joints. Also, take a good look at the GI pins while it is out, if they are starting to tarnish/char, now is a good time to replace them.... Victory! Checked all the solder joints,...

Re: Just enjoying the peace and quiet here........
I have sadly done pinball stuff all summer long. I usually don't do pinball stuff in the summer, but I have a storage unit I am trying to downsize before October, and I have at least 7 projects going on.... Right now I am finishing up Ken's Earthshaker (complete freaking basketcase, one of the most ...

Re: I may need board work done- recommendations?
She's alive! Crap Sockets at U20 and U21.... I had to add jumpers to 5(?) different spots? WHY?!?!?!? I didn't get a picture of it, but underneath the sockets, the traces stop a millimeter short of the through holes, if it weren't for the solder, they wouldn't make a connection. It was REALLY weird ...

Re: My flintstones BR1 mess
Good thing I'm numb to asking stupid questions. So what happens when you wrap a board in foil with batteries in it? I thought this is how you should ship it if you don't have the static free bag handy. I was supposed to take the batteries out before wrapping it in foil. A "tinfoil connection&q...

Re: My flintstones BR1 mess
Nothing if you take the batteries out of the holder.
Leaving the batteries in allowed the positive and negative to bridge, and the batteries were getting ready to explode and were extremely hot....

Re: Schedule
I should also say I am not opposed to having it on different nights of the week to mix it up a bit too.... Satudays are great, but other nights work well too...

Re: My flintstones BR1 mess
You can get Heat sink compound at Radio shack. Let me know if you need help advice/help changing it, and be careful not to pull any traces on the top of the board... be sure to give 'em a good look... ya never know if the previous "fixer" might have made the traces brittle. I've also got ...

Re: My flintstones BR1 mess
Dude....I was gonna say that it looks like they took a spaded BR and put it on that board (even though it is hard to tell from those pics).... If you need a BR, I have about 40 of them.... Also, with the way that board looks, if you can get a good sharp set of snitps under the topside of the BR, I w...

Re: Parts/mods for CFTBL
Hey Todd... You picked a great game to start your collection with. Creech is a classic, I played the hell out of one in college for four years straight in the Student Union..... As far as Mad-Amusements goes, the longest I have ever waited on something is about 2 hours  ....Mike has always be...

Re: Northern WI pins in the wild. A sad state.
I have ONE pin on route within a 10 mile radius of me.... It is a Starship Troopers and it is maintained by Bullseye out of Madison.... Not the greatest playing machine by any means.... There really is not much (if any) money to be made on pins on route. The only way they make money is when they sel...
